*The sequence of events that revolve around this short film feel pretty surreal*
Back in early February 2020 I met Jia. I was really excited when he approached me with his short film concept, not only was it a unique story but as he was explaining the story I could sense how passionate he was about it, which is something I really admire in a director.
Our heroes are two lovers who are not only separated by different timezones but also by one of biggest pandemics the world has yet to face. Now to be honest, at the time I didn’t fully understand the gravity of the situation that the real world was about to endure, watching this back now gives me goosebumps. Based off very traumatic events happening present day was definitely hard a hard pill to swallow but that there were actual ‘pandemic themed’ parties happening blew my mind. Like really?!
Aside from the typical short film limitations (resources, money, etc), now pack on an EXTREMELY quick due date. Shot on Wednesday February 12th 2020 and released on Friday February 14th 2020, Valentine’s Day. This couldn’t have been accomplished without the support of out tireless cast and crew, pulling this together is such a short amount of time. The fact that Jia and Fenton were able to cut and polish the entire film in a mere few hours was unreal. I’m so grateful that they trusted me wholeheartedly with the look of this project, thanks again fellas
